Vintage Market Days in Decatur
Last weekend we ventured west to participate in Vintage Market Days for Denton/Fort Worth. It’s actually held at NRS Event Center in Decatur.
Despite that recent post about gearing up for Christmas markets, it seemed a bit too early for holiday goods in September, so I brought some vintage-inspired items to paint on-site for customers.
I lettered signs and old-fashioned chalkboards with family names, kids names, and grandparent names:
Lollie and Pops seem to be trending as grandparent names. I also got more than one request for “Glamma” (a glamorous Grandma, I assume!)
Chicken coops are quite popular the area, and so were variations of this sign:
Then there were a few unexpected requests:
Plus a little job for a neighboring vendor who had goat’s milk products:
They had brought two baby goats and we hung the sign in their playpen because everyone was taking pics and posting them. Just look at those little cuties!
If you’ve never been to a Vintage Market Days event, give them a Google-ing! There are locations around the country. I usually attend the one in McKinney which is for the Dallas area. So many fun antique and vintage items!
My mom and helper Sue came home with a trophy she had her eye on all weekend:
You deserve a trophy, Sue Mama!!
